Where to find artwork
You're not limited to what you own. Here are four good sources — each with different considerations around rights and licensing.
Your own photography
Photos you've taken yourself are yours to use without restriction. Landscapes, close-up botanicals, abstract textures — anything with strong contrast and colour will print well at this scale.
No licence required — you own the copyright.
Purchase digital art online
There's a huge range of independent illustrators, photographers and digital artists online. You can purchase digital art directly from creators on platforms like DeviantArt.
Always check that the licence you purchase covers physical print use. If it's not clear, message the artist directly before ordering.
Visit DeviantArtGenerate with AI
Tools like Gemini let you generate unique artwork from a text prompt — entirely your own creation, with no licensing to navigate.
Describe a style, a subject, a colour palette. Iterate until it feels right. Export at the highest resolution available before uploading.
AI-generated images are yours to use for personal print.
Use historic artwork
A vast library of historic art, illustration, and design is available to use freely. Generally speaking, artwork enters the public domain 70 years after the death of the artist — though this varies by country.
Always confirm the copyright status before using. A good starting point is museum digital archives and public domain image libraries.
